Camtasia is a video recording and editing software from Techsmith. It has a smooth learning curve, even beginners that have not used it before can get started in a few minutes recording their screen, their voice, importing video clips, adding annotations, effects and transitions, and producing professional-looking videos.
You can use Camtasia to record your screen and create software walkthroughs, demonstrations and tutorials. You can also record your webcam or record yourself giving a PowerPoint presentation. Then, you can edit that in Camtasia itself, add more video clips, music, animation, effects and finally export the video to disk or share it online.
Camtasia doesn't aim to offer too many advanced or complicated functions, instead choosing to keep a balance between features and ease of use. This is what helps all beginners get started right away, but professionals who are looking for a more robust feature set, the likes of which you find in Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve and others, will probably be disappointed.
In this Camtasia Resource Center I aim to provide free training material, articles, videos, tutorials, downloadable resources and more. I've been using Camtasia for many years and have learned the ins and outs and even stretched it beyond its limits sometimes. In this resource center you will find some tutorials that combine the Camtasia functions to create more complex effects and functionality.
